1st Camping trip 2015 (Thousand Trails - Birch Bay)

February 21, 2015:

We became Thousand Trails Members today and took advantage of the beautiful weather in Birch Bay, WA.

We signed up for two years for $45.52 per month which gives us access 36 sites throughout Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona and Cultus Lake in British Columbia.  The first 30 days are free and only $3 per day afterwards.

There were only a few campsites taken so we had our pick of sites.  

Heather selected #74 which had full sun during the afternoon. 

After a good 1 1/2 hours cleaning Heather was able to sit down and relax with Sassy to enjoy her pre-dinner cocktail.  

After dinner we used our Smoky Joe as a fire pit.  Heather wore several layers to keep warm.  Overhead stars could be seen and only the sounds of frogs could be heard.  Very peaceful.

We meet several people of which all had good things to say about Thousand Trails.  One suggested we make sure we start our West Coast vacation at Whalers Rest in Oregon and work our way back up the coast ending at Seaside. 

Looking forward to our 2-3 week vacation exploring the west coast of Oregon and Washington.

1st Trip to Birch Bay, WA

Took the RV Trailer (Rockwood 2902ss) on its first trip to Birch Bay, WA.  On the last turn I took the turn to sharp and hit the stop sign damaging the awning. Everything else was wonderful.  We had burgers and hotdogs on Monday for dinner.  It was raining on Tuesday so we decided to go the Alderwood Mall about 90 miles away to do some shopping.  Tuesday evening we had steak and baked potato with wine.

Sassy really enjoyed the experience.  Looking forward to a wonderful year of RVing and staying at Eagan Lake in 2011.
